Paradox

Paradox

A Poem by Michelle Tarnowski
"

The things we do to keep from being hurt....

"

The imperviousness that I imply,

like a great stone wall surrounding me

leaves me undisturbed

in my self-imposed view of a world

I can no longer see.

Indulge me in my juxtaposition

of reality and illusion.

The two merge to create a paradox,

a new truth of equal absurdity

as the original had provided.

Cool.

(... i kind of wish you'd gone more into showing us the paradox, rather than just telling us. but that would be an entirely different poem.)

Powerful for how short it is.
