Mara

Mara

A Poem by Michelle Tarnowski
"

Hurt turning to bitterness

"

Drink from the spring of Mara

Drink deep the waters bitter flow

Quench thy thirst with anger

Let hurt within you grow

A costly path to choose

Filled with thorns that were so sharp…

They cut the soul until

A drop of blood did start.

So profoundly moving, reminding me of the passage where Moses turned the bitter water into fresh at Mara... Bitterness sets down deep roots... Beautiful..

These few words pack a powerful punch. Been there-done that more than I would like to admit, and I was MISERABLE. When you have time read Self Made Prison of Defeat. It is about the same subject...Unforgiveness, Bitterness and Resentment. Well done!
