Illusion

Illusion

A Poem by Michelle Tarnowski

Years of running, eyes closed

Far as one can go in the opposite direction

From loves pain, loves lies, loves deception

An illusion from a master craftsman

Of singled minded trust

Only to be torn in loves storm

Shredded soul, broken heart

Cries out….to no one

In the silent dark.

The closing lines "Cries out.to no one In the silent dark." lingers with sadness and lonliness. Lots of emotion woven throughout this poem.

This one has the ring of truth to it and I am sure most every reader will relate to it with personal experience. It is hard to write about common themes without sounding trite or simple, you have done that here. I do like the reduction in line length it has. almost makes a saw-tooth pattern.
