Lapsed

Lapsed

A Poem by LPS

The wind struck me like it struck me that day. It crawled across my skin, I remembered your face. My stomach began to hurt. I could feel it my face. I felt lost, like I was in the wrong place. I shouldn't be here. How do I get back to there? A crash to the earth, humbling like an addicts last high. I do my best not to cry. I'm lost in a moment I can't get back. I'm trapped. How do you forget the best you've ever felt? How do you forget the worst you've ever felt? In the battle between the sun, the sky, and moon, we were all meant to lose. But you can't really lose if you remember the sight. The glowing warmth of the day, and the soft caress of the calming moonlight. Even when it ends, and everything ends, at least in a way. So even when it ends if you remember that feeling, it never goes away. There will always be that day.
