Things Never Change

Things Never Change

A Poem by Vin

I walk this shoreline,

And meaningless footprints follow me.

The waves crash,

And memories are gone with the sea.

Along with fake smiles,

The tide moves in.

Along with true tears,

The tide takes me from within.

Along with dreamt feelings,

The tide reminds me of who I’ve been.

The moon seems to taunt me as I lay in tears.

The stars show me the past, while the future nears.

I’m aboard this boat, and it rocks from left to right.

Things never change, and this is only the start of my night.

I’m sailing in the dark, There will never be light.

I’m inside this sand castle,

A place where I used to dream my life would be great.

My castle lies in ruins,

The waves have taken it away, an act of fate.

And the more I wish,

The less I believe.

And the more I dream,

The less I achieve.

I guess I’m not meant to be happy,

A feeling that is so strange.

I guess I’m not meant to be happy.

Things will never change.

Rhyming is nicely done. Fits the mood and tone of the poem. Really nice and sweet poem lol

Normally, I don't like the common rhymes (like "door" and "floor", "love" with "dove"), but this works well. Very important to the story as well and with its flow. Good work. Very sad though.
