A Place for MeA Poem by MantaStyleSomewhere in the city up high, where no one could see, A gentle
breeze blew through me in this stellar, stellar night, Chilling
shivers coursed inside me as I dangle my feet and ponder, Marveled by
the stars above, I take a pause to think if all was right. I mused over
it, trying to fool myself that the choice was faultless, yet I stutter, Falling flat
on my back, a familiar face greeted me, Their eyes
bleed clear, yet their façade was of a welcoming one, Grabbing unto
me with a warm embrace as if I’ve just returned home. I was happy
to have a place, yet I was ashamed, Not everyone
deserves happiness, Not everyone
who is happy deserves to be, ‘You do’, a
soft whisper in my ear lulled me to sleep. © 2020 MantaStyleAuthor's Note
