A Million ReasonsA Poem by Sk.Mansur A Million Reasons There are a million reasons why we are not meant for each other. Let a million more join them. But this heart never learns; it hurts more than broken bones, more than third-degree burns. What hurts the most is your absence. Yes, this heart never learns - it beats in hope that someday it will laugh. There are a million miles that set us apart, still, I would run all the way for you. Through snow and sun, through wind and storm, even if I step on a million thorns, I would run to you at the speed of sound. There are a million ways we could go wrong. Let's go through them all, and find the one where we'll be alright. The million reasons fight hard, etching my fate on my face. What can I do? Every time it's the same I fall for someone I can't have. I will embrace your memories for a millennium, even if they are burning embers, even if my body is in shambles. I will hold these memories tight, And I don't need a million reasons; just the one, "I love you," is enough for me. © 2024 Sk.MansurAuthor's Note
