The Sweetest Breeze

 

When I see clouds, you call the sun,

When I need help, to me you run.

When I need space, you let me roam,

When I am tired, you are my home.

 

When winter comes, you are my coat,

When the music fails, you are my note.

When cruelty strikes, you are my shield,

In natures greatness you are the field.

It may be a work in progress but being small doesn't make it any less great. The rhyming was a pleasure to read, it sounded natural and unforced. Perhaps it's because the imagery is wonderful and yet so simple

my husband isn't much about such things either . . . but sometimes he 'gets it'. He looked at me one night and said, you need to make sure you make time to work on the important things. When I asked him what he meant, he said your poetry. I was astounded. I wonder if I would be so understanding about his passion.
