I can hear the cogs in my own brain turning.......
I sat down at my laptop because I wanted to write a poem about Delhi, the thing is I don't think at this point I can. I have already been home a day, but in my mind if I write a poem now my trip has definately ended and I am not ready for that.
How to describe Delhi? now that's a task. Incredible, amazing, eye opening, sad, lovely, lost, fabulous ....... one or all these things together. But still that is not good enough.
Looking around in Delhi, even behind a protective shield of friends, feels like you are truely awake for the first time. No false gratitudes, no fake smiles, no pretense and plastic. Real abundant life... everywhere. Forget 5 star hotels and warm weather, Delhi's Heart is not the grid reference or centre that people refer to, it is in it's strength, it is in it's kindess, it is in it's soul.
Whether you are driving on Delhi's completely crazy roads, or wandering through a Dilli Haat, I doubt that there is anyway you can avoid falling in love with this city.
So, back to my original question, how would I describe Delhi? Now, that's easy, it is simply "crazy beautiful".
