Wounded

Wounded

A Poem by Just Manoosh
"

If I could ease your pain, I would. If I could fix you, I would. I could even forgive you, I have. Mx

"

Wounded

Wash your hands my love,

The blood has dried and must be wiped away.

Wash your hands my love,

Let the wounds heal and with it any hurt.

Wash your hands my love,

Come to me and let me help you with your pain.

Wash your hands my love,

For my blood does not belong on your fists.

5th November 2008 - I am humbled that I won this competition today. Ironically, my writing has been validated in 2 ways, because I won a second competition today called "A day in the life" for a poem called "Underground Kisses". Underground Kisses is the day my demon and I first kissed, Wounded is how it ended and of course both are how I feel. Go read it.

A small contribution for Emilys 'All in our hands' competition, the key to my write being - describe the character of a person real or fictional by only describing their hands.

Okay, not only should you SOOOO not be wanting to take away the pain and hurt of someone who did that, but you should pretend that you want to, and when they're fully in belief that you'll take their pain away and wash the blood off.... knock them a good one in the mouth!
It is a short poem, but babe, you hit it on the head.... GREAT JOB!

Hands play a massive part in our lives creating and destroying where would we be without them but if one should steal then in some arab countries they would be no more as they amputate them, your sorrow and pain are felt i this heartfelt little poem.
I can feel the anguish and suffering in just a few lines and realise a tiny bit of what you might have felt in those exchanges, you are brave for talking about it and expressing it in a poem.
Kudos for you here.

Vividly expressed. The image it leaves is haunting. Well done!

Your use of repetition here is very nice as is the twisted reveal at the end. Very good work.

This was amazing! I really loved this part:
"Wash your hands my love,
For my blood does not belong on your fists. "
Excellent work!

I know this is for a contest: it could have been delivered with gentility, servility and all that, but, you put pen to paper, thought to screen, and come out with something brief yet with so much power, intensity, it's remarkable, truly remarkable!
