The Blind Mans Shoes

The Blind Mans Shoes

A Poem by Just Manoosh
"

For those who judge and for he that will be eaten by his own disillusioned vanity.

"

The Blind Mans Shoes

Take a walk with me,

Breathe new air with me,

Ask the blind man if you may borrow his shoes...

Embrace the truth my friend,

Feed your hungry stomach,

See life naked as it should be seen.

If you can not see a chiselled shell,

What do you see?

If you can not see rosebud lips,

What do you see?

Can you see the blackened heart?

Are you to die from the frost?

I pray you take a walk in the blind mans shoes…

In the darkest days he sees cherry blossom,

In the cold of night he is not alone,

Vanity holds no chains for him and from his eyes you can not hide.

Let him be your guide.

Just a few thoughts. Vanity is the ugliest trait, after all the outside is just packaging, the real gift is underneath those layers.

Seeing the world through the eyes of a blind man. How ironic. Nice write.

I couldn't agree more with your authors note for this. I like the way you wrote it... very deep. Intense. Thought provoking. If only we could all walk a mile in someone else's shoes, be it the blind man or someone with troubles different from our own. It would put everything in our lives into a different perspective.

Fabulous concept really well excecuted. This is a beautiful work. of art. We should all try to walk in each other's shoes whenever possible. Cheers.

What a wonderful message you've given us in this excellent piece. I love the words you've woven...the shoes you've chosen. yes....how much different would life be if we were all blind? Excellent thoughts...thanks for sharing them!!! You know what touches me most....you are wrapped in gorgeous packaging but you're lively spirit outshines it...which seems almost impossible. You are a rare and precious woman, Mx.
Much love~~

This poem has a great message. Unfortunately the society we live in seems to thrive on taking advantage of people's insecurities and vanity. If only we could all take a walk in the blind man's shoes maybe we would have a more enlightened world. NH

A delightfully prophetic write...great work. I am glad that is was shared with me. You are right that one that can not see what we do may see deeper still. Thank you for writing this - it is truly wonderful.

Wow, how thought-provoking a piece you have here...vanity is indeed an ugly trait. They say beauty is only skin deep - who knew it went that deep?

By the way, thank you, Shinjini, for sharing this with me. I would indeed have probably missed something really great if you had not of 'rang my doorbell' with news of this treasure! So, what I am going to do is exactly the same thing - I am going to spread the news of this little nugget of truth and maybe we can start an epidemic of thinking! What a concept!

Now, let me think, who do I know who can read and think at the same time? hmmmm....

Loved this loved this love love love love loved this. YES. Exactly. The blind man can see so much more than the eye. He sees cherry blossoms and breaks free from the chains that our unappreciation creates. Beautiful. The blind man appreciates and is thankful for that which he has, because he knows at any moment he can lose it. That is why, this freedom to be greatful, opens so many doors for him to see beyond what the eye limits us. Wonderful.

"See life naked as it should be seen."

So powerful. Yes. I feel with this line that you cannot see life with your eyes, but with the doors that being blind opens, like I said before. With these new doors come windows to new opporunity and we see life as it should be, without limits, without restrictions, without bias, in a blind mans shoes. It even applies to prejudice. The blind man does not see black or white, he does not see color. He does not see narrow eyes or big noses. He sees the truth. And without his vision he does not see lifes appearance, but how it really is.

Wow, so thought provoking this short piece. I realy loved it.
