She Bruises Easily

She Bruises Easily

A Poem by Just Manoosh

"

She bruises easily

Tender,

but never weak.

Fine,

but not brittle.

Misjudgement is everywhere,

Argue with your ignorance.

Hope,

she gives openly.

Take,

she ignores pleasantly.

Cruelty plagues her daylight,

Warm tears hide in night rain.

Compassion,

speckles her thoughts.

Kindness,

Skips in her veins.

A lost soul to the cold winds,

She fights on your behalf.

Her,

broken but still fighting.

She,

damaged but not done.

Her soul is wounded but not dead,

but the scars run so very deep.

Inner strength prevailing over the emotional upheaval of being forsaken. A powerful poetic composition, speaking volumes with few words.

Sad, but exquisitely structured!

AWE... this is very well written and the meaning behind it is very strong and sad yet shows she still has some fight left Great Job.

Hi Manoosh:
This reads like a personal manifesto and as it seems that you have been sick, perhaps it is. I like the powerful title (which is what made me want to read it). But the poem lacks context and I think you need a stronger set up. Some of it reads too much like one of those inspirational posters (with seascapes or unicorns).

But that said there is also lots to like here. I really enjoy the line: "kindness skips in her veins." Great imagery. Brings to mind a flat rocks skimming a pond surface. I also like "warm tears hide in the night rain." Makes one thing of a neon sign reflecting in a puddle. I think there's some excellent material to work with here -- you just need to fine tune it.

I hope you are feeling better.

Beautiful, wonderful, it describes so many strong women that I know. You say it's a small step, I say it's a great anthem. You've said it all so very well.

Your work is beautiful, as always. I enjoy the strong emotional presence you continually bring and the chords of feelings you strike inside my heart. Very nice. Very nice indeed.

Aw, man, beautifully penned. Makes me want to reach out and hold u hehe- Yea, the soul takes a lot of beatings during life. It's like a shield. It protects the heart and spirit. With its mighty strength, it could conquor anything. But what it truly needs to survive and thrive in this world, is compassion, respect, love, tenderness, romance, intimacy, and warmth. Yes, the soul takes many beatings in life, still, the good will, I believe, is what helps keeps its shape, and I think you describe that beautifully in this write :)
