Snow

Snow

Sometimes the winter holds my heart,

She cradles, comforts and caresses.

Sheltered in her arms of isolation,

I dream, above all else, I dream.

Your instinct was wonderful. It's perfect. Every word. Every line. Sometimes I dream . . .

One of the best things I've read in a while - I think the whole style and content reflects the simplicity of the thought, so I concur - great decision to just keep this as it is - I guess it falls perfectly in line with the simplicity of snow itself, and how its arrival can make you feel ;)

Excellent!

Well, it appears that I'm going to be trite because everyone else said it already. This is short, simple, and fantastic. The tone is beautiful and sad all at once, and I can almost see this on...not a greeting card, but maybe on the front of a journal or something. It's that pretty and poignant. I really loved it.

Actually thats a good point, I may remove "my soul" as its not really needed. Mx

simple was definitely a good move, matches the stark beauty of snow. i would be careful about saying "my soul" though, that sounds cliche. perhaps just "me." but the poem is striking

Your instincts were right on--I love this! As I read it I could feel it.

Your instict was right. The shortness to it adds to the affect. It could have been a long "okay" poem, but ended up a short great poem.

I agree with you, the few short lines say it all. Just those few short lines brought to mind a landscape covered in snow and trees, a lone person, bundled up and walking nowhere, enjoying the solitude and silence. I'm jealous of that solitude. Very good.

Very wistful when we think snow is so cold and yet your words have given it warmth!
Beautiful piece and the simplicity is perfect, giving the reader imagary of perfection
that is inside you.
