Old Age

She sobs,
her heart is breaking at 94 years old.

She sobs,
her heart is breaking at 60 years old.

I sob,
my heart is breaking at 32 years old.

I will be there for you Grandma,
I will be there for you Mother,
I will be strong despite the blues.

I love you.

wow what a loving tribute to your grandma. I wish I have that feeling for loving my grandma but I hate my grandma...... great piece though

I liked the background note to this and have thought that same thought about growing young rather than old. But I have never thought about tears cascading down the generations. As with Night Terrors this wastes no words and communicates the idea well, i particularly like the first three short verses. And i can imagine this one reading well. But it is the concept of looking through the life from the other end of the telescope that i like.
