Fallen

Fallen

A Poem by Ryan Henderson

Silence...
Just...listen...

Hear the winds
and the rains
and the birds.

The birds as they fly,
as they fly, as they fly.
As they fly so blind
in the distant air
away from the ground
in their ignorance.

Hush.
Can you hear the screams
above the wind and the rain?
And feel the pain in their cries
as they continue to yell
with no time to inhale?

Of course you can't.

Listen to yourself
as you breathe in and out.
As you fly like the birds
and don't think of the ground.

I really like this one, "Hush.
Can you hear the screams
above the wind and the rain?
And feel the pain in their cries
as they continue to yell
with no time to inhale?" I liked that part. :)
