SURPRISE AT THE DOORA Poem by anthony blakeAnticipation into realityA Mother’s wish in having hope She is Catholic and relishes the Pope A Mother’s son is based in the U.S. Army overseas She would feel better if her Son was at home The Mother feels so alone Her Husband passed several years ago But for years she would let go The Mother often writes letters too her Son She would feel better if she could talk face to face and he was among The Mother prays asking God to protect her Son and keep him alive But you should be feeling a Mother’s vibe Now the Mother often makes a wish Then throws in the air a kiss Be careful what you wish for as it might come true But there is nothing here to pursue Suddenly there was a knock at the door But the Mother didn’t seem sure Could it be bad news that her Son had died? How would she take the news? Are you sure you want to answer the door? Could it really be a surprise? As the Mother opened the door, Sargent John Harrison, the Mother’s Son was behind the door Her heart was full of joy extending into galore Embraces upon embraces full of happiness Captivated in life being her own witness There were tears of joy both ends But a salute in honor A Mother’s love illustrating Welcome Home Son Total admiration among It’s a happy ending done.
