Failed Deal

At an Antiques & Collectibles Store

A promising customer glanced fore

Asked the person who that shop owns

Whose skull does the showcase adorns?

O Sir, this is legendary Cleopatra’s skull

Whose marvelous beauty had create a lull

The Egyptian Queen of Ptolemaic dynasty

Valorous Julius Caesar’s heart’s fantasy

The last active amongst the Pharaoh clan

Nuptial tie to King Mark Antony, her man

Unfortunately met an end, the most tragic

In year 30 BC, under some spell of magic

Died of asp bite, foretells the Fate clever

Yet continues to live in our hearts forever

Not dead as immortalized by Shakespeare

Protagonist of ‘Antony & Cleopatra’ dear

The Customer by now was really amused

Requested to list price that could be used

O Sir, it is priceless, said the shop owner

And quoted an awesome figure, in honour

The man glanced at other skulls in the closet

Finding one small one, to owner did request

Whose skull is this, please tell Mr. Owner

Of Cleopatra’s Sir, under the same banner

The former is just before she met her end

The latter is of her youth time beforehand.
