No one knows I'm dancing between two worlds.
In one, whispers creep to become screams
Casual glances become stares
I want to crawl out my body
And leave it all bare.
But In this world.
I'm said to have it "easy"
Screams of agony
leading to no end
they reassure me
that i'm fine
But to what end?
my worlds collide
where most cannot see
I'm tiptoeing on fault lines

Yet as they stare at me
they only the see wreckage
something bent from attempt
but broken from failure
i lost the screw that held my worlds together
But how do i stop this world from bleeding into my reality?

This poem captures well what we all know. We have a public persona and a private persona, often 180 degrees apart. We project courage but fear every shadow. Our minds bless and burden us, reality and perception, often inverted, spinning, driving us insane as we walk, less than sure-footed, between two worlds. Enjoyable, thought-provoking piece.
