Culinary in the Finest

Culinary in the Finest

A Poem by Jimmy Glenn
"

Culinary Arts class at Sonora High School, in Sonora, California, doesn't listen to direction very well when it comes to our teacher, Ms. Zelinsky, a restaurant owner, leaving us instruction.

"

I look into the room

Nothing but a mess

I will need a broom

And get help, unless.

This will get me the chance

Of getting promoted

Which is why I will hence

Get my work done to not be demoted.

The kitchen is a disaster

Nothing is clean

But I am the master

Of my cuisine.

My chef is not here

The class is slacking

So I fear

That some of them might be packing.

They never listen

To Ms. Z

But a team works like pistons

And can’t work with one being free.

That free piston works alone

The other have a hard time

Having their work shown

In time for them to shine.
