I' Wen ar' Luin VeraA Story by YukiA short tale about a maiden and the sacred dragon of the forest.I' Wen ar' Luin Vera It was a fair maiden whom discovered the Dragon's Cave first of all creatures living in Adahlen. The cruel Demon King Rauko had ordered for his minions to find and kill the Sacred Dragon of the forest. The blue majestic beast would no longer be able to exist once they'd find him. The maiden's feet left behind a hollow tapping, it's volume increased because of the emptiness. Her long hazel colored hair was lightly bouncing on her shoulders, perfectly matching her big blue eyes and pale skin. She made a breathtaking appearance as the Sacred Dragon Luin Vera caught sight of her. Her slowing down was because of fear taking over her body in an easy pace. No one had ever found this place and got away, and the maiden knew she'd never see the light of day again. 'What do you seek here, young one?' The maiden wanted to say something, but her tensed up body wasn't able to speak the words. All she could do was look at the dragon's enormous claws and his beautiful appearance. It was everything the maiden had always dreamed of, the resemblance was remarkable between this dragon and the one in her dreams. Once the maiden was standing in front of Luin Vara, he knew she was the one the legend had foreseen. The light that was glowing around her was something she couldn't see herself, but he could. It was as if she lit up the entire darkness that had taken over the cave. It was the light that could give him the strength he needed in order to get rid of Rauko. 'Maiden, you are the chosen one to defeat the evil demon king. It is your duty to sacrifice your life for the Land of Adahlen, for all the creatures of the forest.' As the maiden knelt down, with a dagger she had grabbed in her hand, she couldn't help but smile. She always wanted to be of help towards the entire forest and all of it's beautiful inhabitants. Every life was precious to her and she wanted to protect it, no matter what. It was a shame her own life had to be taken away for that to happen, though. She had already seen it hundreds of times, all in her dreams. Every single one of them, describing what had happened until now and ending in her death saving Adahlen. It felt so real this time though, as if it really happened or had happened before. 'What do you think she's dreaming about?' With their arms wrapped around each other, Ray and Melina looked at their five year old daughter Wen. She looked so serene, as if she was captured by some sort of spell that took her away to the land of dreams. 'She's experiencing a previous life, I can feel it.' Melina's husband looked at her with a sigh. 'Sweetie, you know those things aren't real.' He kissed her forehead and went downstairs. Melina took place on the edge of her daughter's bed and stroke her hair while she watched the little Wen softly breathing. 'I know you were a fair maiden in a previous life, why do you think I named you Wen? Your father doesn't understand what we've been through, but I want you to know that I think you're the bravest maiden of all. To sacrifice your life just because I had asked it from you was something I'll never forget. I didn't forget it when I was Luin Vara, and I won't forget it now that I'm your mother. You may have protected me back then, maiden, but now it's my time to protect you.' Names taken from the language of the Elves: Adahlen = Forest Luin Vara = Blue Protector Rauko = Demon Wen = Maiden
