Love Is Powerful

Love is strong and attracts opposites but it cannot protect us from being hurt...

Love is powerful
It has the power to transform us
And makes us believe
It opens our world
Letting new and old people in
It is able to create an attraction between two people
It has the power to make people fall strongly in love
If only love had the power
To prevent us from getting broken hearts
If only love used its power as a shield
Then we could never hurt
And forever we could love
But love isn't so powerful as to do that
So love will hurt
And leave us broken
Because love is only so powerful....

This poem definitely held a lot of truth. I think that a lot of people would like to believe that Love is powerful enough to overcome pain, but the sad reality is that they go hand in hand with each other, and that without one, you can't have the other. A very insightful, well-described write. :)
