Can't Let Go

She just cant let go of a love that didn't last. It hurts her to know that everything in her world is lost without him... Life isn't the same.

It's so hard
Letting go of you

Everything that he does
Reminds me of you

How can I forget you
And everything we had

I still have you locked in my heart
Along with some pictures and memories

How can I let go
When you're all I ever think about

Our love
Was so strong

But our past
Still holds so many memories

I can't sleep at night
Knowing you're not by my side
 
I loved you
But now I almost hate you

I wish I never met you
And I regret ever falling for you

You left me so emotional
And unable to breathe

But I just can't let go
No matter how hard I try

No matter how many tears that may fall
I just can't let go

My life isn't the same
Not since we said goodbye

My life used to be painted in color
But now it's in black and white

The sun never shines
And it's always so cold and dark

But no matter how different my life is
I just can't let go

I almost hated you
But I never stopped loving you

I just couldn't let go of you

Awww. You're fantastic at writing romantic poetry! I love almost the entire thing, except the fourth and fifth stanza seemed off because everything else was in couplets and those weren't, but it was necessary to express the emotions you needed to put across, so it's okay. Very well done.

Something similar happened to me last year. It wasn't with a boyfriend, but a best friend. BUT we parted. After knowing each other for 15 years. (we met on her first birthday! and parted on her 16th...) I have a feeling this is what i'd feel like if I lost the guy who's pretty close to a BF right now.
