Life after Death

Life after Death

A Poem by MandaClarine
"

The world needs love

"

Why are people so scarred of death?

That fear is wasting lives

Religion is ignorance in a sincere form,

It is full of hate yet preaches love.

No one knows what is going to happen,

Coming to conclusions is a false sense of security.

Does this make sense to you?

A man, so concerned about what was going to happen tomorrow

He lost the entire day.

This man thought he knew what was going to happen tomorrow

But he was wrong, this man cannot predict the future.

His ego is consuming him

There will never be peace with religion,

It’s a war in itself

Love,

That is the answer.

Ignorance is not bliss, it is filled with hate

A community filled with ego preaching what they think is true

So wrapped up in your own world, condemning others

Refusing to believe anything else could be true.

But what if Christ was real, but also Buddha,

But also Krishna,

But also Yahweh,

What then?

We as a society are not missing God,

We are missing love

Focus on today, on love,

On globalization, on peace,

On humanity.

Stop living in fear of what comes next.

I agree. I have a poem called "I can show you God." I agree, love lead to love. Hate lead to new hate. Even Jesus said turn the other cheek. Not murder. A powerful poem. I wished we lived in a world where leader seek ways to help without blood shed. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

The greatest hypocrisy is equality. We are all human. Does that make us equals? No. The rich man never says to the poor man, "I'm worth just as much as you." The beautiful girl never says to the ugly girl, "I'm every bit as pretty as you." There is a reason for that. To most people the "truth" is what they find most convenient and comforting. All men are not created equal nor do they sustain the same rights through life. The wealthy make the rules and laws and impoverished souls live by them. However, to quote Thoreau, " Alert and healthy natures remember that the sun rose clear." Our "worth" should not be measured in coin alone nor our "beauty" by the outward façade that nature has provided. Honor is a thing of great value and a beautiful heart and soul is worth more that glamor and glitz. Misconceptions are born of imperceptions. We must learn to look with more than our eyes to find heaven. Just my thoughts.

religion and love are not mutually exclusive. there are plenty of loving people in all religions, i'm sure. the problem is not in religion, but in dogmatism and extreme fundamentalism. this exists in non-theistic beliefs as well as religion. look at the history of stalin in russia, mao in china or pol pot in cambodia. some of the most extreme, hate-filled regimes in the past few centuries have been atheistic. so be careful where you place the blame. but on one thing you are perfectly correct. if you focus on love and peace, it can only be a good thing.
