Powerful Beauty

I got inspired to write this after helping with the garage sale during the start of a storm. This is one of my personal favorites.

Powerful Beauty

I hear a rumble off in the distance

And go outside to investigate.

What I see is a wondrous sight

Nature at work.

 

A flash of energy lights up the sky

The lightning bolt of a storm.

A powerful rumble releases itself

A boom of pure power.

 

Gray clouds fill up the sky,

The wind blowing hard.

It rustles the leaves in the tree,

Leaving a calming sound.

 

The smell of Earth and rain

Start to come and waft my way.

Wind blowing in my face,

At the right time, in the right place.

 

It’s nature sending a message to me:

“Get inside, and hurry up!”

But I just stand and stare

At Nature’s powerful beauty.
