The Lonely Ash Tree

The Lonely Ash Tree

A Poem by El Mando
"

This is knda sad... Here's the video if you want to hear the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=objPkxkkbUA

"

Why are you

a bowin'

Slender mountain

rowan?

Bending your head

so low

To the ground

below.

And across the

high road,

Over the wide

river,

Standing alone

and lonely,

A stately oak tree

bends to her.

How can she,

a rowan

Go to that

great oak tree?

Bowing and

swaying slowly,

She sings her song

so lonely.

Slender mountain

ash tree.

Spreads her bright

red berry,

She cannot cross

the river,

She sways alone

forever.

Author's Note

El Mando
This is actually an Honor Chouir song. My music teacher says the lyrics (what I wrote) would make a good poem. Here's the video if you want to hear the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=objPkxkkbUA

It definitely stands as a poem. Nothing wrong with sadness in poetry.
