Souped-up

Souped-up

A Poem by lucia

Someone had accidentally dropped

One little piece of sanity in

My  sweet  soya jelly soup

Served in a Chinese deli

And stirred between the

Maize maze of wrongs and lefts

And rights and rights and rights

I asked for some salt

To flavor the milky white  malt

I’d offended the cook

And a dozen traditions

I stared at my soup

And concentrated

On its simplicity
