A Fart

A Fart

A Poem by C. MacCormack
"

My daughter challenged me to write a poem about farts. I hope others find it as hilarious as she has.

"
If you were a fart
How would you sound?
Would you be so loud
You'd shake the ground?
Would you squeak quietly
Like a tiny little mouse
Or sound off like a duck
As you walk 'round the house?
Would you announce yourself proudly
With a "Yep, that was me!"
Or if people noticed
Would you frighten and flee?
Even more important-
How would you smell?!
I hope you won't be rancid
Last time I was I fell!
Being a fart can be rather rough
Especially when your underpants have had enough.

I'm crying! This was hilarious! I've never thought about that before and now I can't help but wonder which one I'd be! Those last two lines are my favorite. Great work!

Thank you! I think I'll let my daughter dictate my writing topics more often.

Writing has always been therapeutic to me. Speaking my emotions is harder than spilling them onto paper with pen. I also write small stories for my children. more..
