Light and Dark

Light and Dark

A Poem by C. MacCormack

I have fallen from the sky
My delicate wings are clipped
You soar above me, looking down
Red venom on your lips.
Perhaps you saw my weakness
And longed to play a game
Pick apart my broken heart
Then fill my gut with shame.
Did you think I'd lay there
Like a victim, small and meek
When greater beasts than you
Have failed to make me weak.
I have learnt my lesson
I'll stand proudly while in pain
Angels cannot help demons
Kindness only fuels their flame.

About
Writing has always been therapeutic to me. Speaking my emotions is harder than spilling them onto paper with pen. I also write small stories for my children. more..
