Light and DarkA Poem by C. MacCormack
I have fallen from the sky
My delicate wings are clipped You soar above me, looking down Red venom on your lips. Perhaps you saw my weakness And longed to play a game Pick apart my broken heart Then fill my gut with shame. Did you think I'd lay there Like a victim, small and meek When greater beasts than you Have failed to make me weak. I have learnt my lesson I'll stand proudly while in pain Angels cannot help demons Kindness only fuels their flame. © 2015 C. MacCormack |
