Rain

Rain

A Poem by Koibito "Nickie" Kitsuya

I sit in the deep shadows
Thinking,
Thinking of the past, my future
And my heart
Pitter patter
Drip drop
The sounds of water dripping
Falling
Flowing down out of the sky
Makes me break out of my Depressed thoughts

I decided to go outside
It just might help
I walk over to the door to glance out
No lightning; no thunder, just peace
I walk out
Like the rhythmic dropping hypnotized me
The first drop of rain that hits me
Feels so gentle, like a kiss
It's cold, your warm in a sense
Then it reminds me of memories
Memories I wish to forget
I began to cry
But yet it is uplifting
The tears you can't see
For the rain hides them
My mind goes blank
I don't really care anymore
I lie down in the cool dampen grass
And for some reason I lose myself
I guess that is what rain is supposed to do

I love the rain too.

There is a good transition in this piece where it's almost like the rain holds us back from going outside, but by taking the step to lose ourselves, we are freed. :)

Tears are lost in the rain as it washes clear our unwanted memories. God is in the rain drop and he loves us all. Tom

Thank you Tom for the Beautiful words
Splendid onomatopeia....I could almost hear the rain dropping. You truly touch on all the senses. The warmth, the coolness, the sounds, the sights. Yes, rain can be cleansing and help us express emotions. There is a feeling of serenity at the end of this poem. I really enjoyed it. Lydi**
