Alone in the dark

Dark blue sea surrounds me
Drowning I reach my hand
But there's no one to embrace me
Frightened by the abyssal silence,
I closed my eyes.

Love the word 'Caliginous'!

In just five short lines you have created the image of being enclosed in darkness and giving yourself over to it very concisely. A very relatable theme for all, and particularly for us brooding writers and poets.
