Modern Primitive

Modern Primitive

A Poem by MalkavianDelirium
"

Wasn't in a very coherent place when I wrote this one; but I was trying my best at the time. Whether or not I succeeded, well, thats up to you.

"

Sometimes I wonder how,
my life can flash by,
a rush of color, a crack of sound,
a pain defined existence.

Sometimes I weep, my tears,
like salt across pale sand,
my skin criss-crossed with,
marks of pain and reconciliation,
of guilt and broken dreams.

I see in you a lustful art,
a gift of inspiration. I see,
in us, a flicker of what could be.
I wonder, in my lonely days,
delirium, if I could, ever truly win.

I fail. Too often, too late, to catch you,
falling. I close my eyes, as all is darkness,
nothing but myself and I, without you.

Perhaps the dream is sweeter,
than to know the truth, the reality,
to know that all must fade.
To love, to live, to lose.

For you, I would risk the fall,
for this, I would defy the fates.
