LOVE Is....

Love is more than just some feelings you develop over time

It's an accumulation of moments on replay in your mind

It's more than just a pretty smile and weakness in your knees

It's chemicals gone crazy in your brain, its more like a disease

Once you've been infected the affliction is yours for life

Love is not a feeling you can cut out with a knife

Its not a f*****g afterthought when everything else falls through

It is fulfillment only one can give, in a way you never knew

It's the life force of another slowly pumping through your veins

the knowledge of their existence keeping you in in chains

It's the giving of yourself for nothing in return

...the lesson in caution that you never seem to learn

Love is not denial, it doesn't leave you feeling rejected

Pushed into a corner, forgotten and neglected

Love is all in what you do and never what you say

Words are so contrived in every little way

Actions show your insides, a glimpse into your soul

Love is a state of 'being' that you can't control.

Nicely stated, Malerie...Love comes in different shades, for example, my Love for haters...it's a kind of love I give stray dogs that can't stay out of people's garbage...or Love for an ex, pulling her hair up at the toilet when she vomits after a night of partying or A Love for a parent, when you have to drive them to the emergency in 3AM in the morning...Love as a state of being...Yes...Love is what we do expecting no reciprocation for it but just do it because have that Love. A deep message of thoughts on Love. :)
