Mind, Body, and Hole

For the sad, self-destructive guys that I've known

In the rain

he washes himself clean from all the pain

and the shame

that he hides deep inside the head he wants to hang.

 

In his mind

contemplating ways to leave it all behind

and go blind

to the flaws he sees and the ones he's sure to find.

 

In the cold

he shivers at the thought of having no one to hold

in his soul

always looking for something to fill the hole. 

 

Inside out

he's confused and overwhelmed with doubt

long forgotten what it feels like to be proud...

the sound of self-destruction all too loud.

I seen this one time , But I think every one has! Wouldn't be human if you didn't. Its hard sometimes to pick up all and move on because something bad happen and took it all away. Yes it for sure happen wasn't fun, But I am glad for it because it made me stronger.

Its pretty clear that you have know a few guys that have those big empty holes in there chests that only really only fit one thing ... i no this all to well trying to stuff my spirituality shaped hole for years with relationships, toys, booze and other mind altering things exercise the list goes on and on FINALLY i met someone who shared a truth with me and he showed me that getting out of all forms of self selfishness self-pity self-seeking ect.. and helping others with out expectations what so ever along with a lot of acceptance tolerance & love brings about this huge shift in perception and MAN a huge whole body sigh of relief that hole in my chest was full for the first time in my life i felt whole !! took allot of rainy days like ur piece describes thank-yu for the reminder how it is with out spiritual principals in life i need to be reminded of this its so easy to just slip back in to a busy self absorbed life with that empty feeling ... THANK_YOU :)
