Dreams of Being

Dreams of Being

A Poem by Malen

In stillness silence warms, day begins luminiferous
Stirred out of slumber, Abrupt and notorious
A bittersweet transformation, Returning to body and mind
Only a moment betwixt, Connections intwine
Memories linger, echoes called dreams
Reminders, Knowing I am everything in between

Back to returning, my mind still in spirit state
Day called me to continue my fate
Stretching into vessel, held warm in this bed
One more moment to scratch my head
Here again, there I go
Spit out from the comforts of this stead

Feet meet the floor, stability found
No more need I look around
Walk to the mirror, a face in full frown
Vanity nothing new, in this realm
Nourishment at least comes with joy
So very much to do before the next ploy

Busy and bustling, always feeling apart
They run and they scurry, working for someone elses art
Detached from reality, following the machine
They gossip and whisper forgetting their dreams
Wallflower, introvert, call me many things
As I walk in wonderment of their forgotten things

Nature still calls unto me, crying behind buildings
Imagine them crumbling showing us freedom
But, never in this steel kingdom
Pride in these places, erase our histories traces

Absorbing, deflecting, energies overworking
Drained, we complain, forgetting we're willing
Broken, separated from our good works
As nature she cries, for us to return

Tired, exhausted, home in sight
Longing to fall back into what's right

Rid me of this worn out flesh
Return me to spirit, to what they call dreams - misunderstanding
The real world awaits, to hear the nightmare of beings
As I unwind, what everyone is secretly feeling

A day in the life. What a great transition from the stirring from dreams in the morning to working throughout the day and then returning to dreams. The truly sensitive experience the world differently and so they "unwind, what everyone is secretly feeling". Fear not, spring is peeping around the corner :)

Powerful words and thoughts.
"Nature still calls unto me, crying behind buildings

But, never in this steel kingdom

The above held true and left me with sad vision. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
