Mother Nature, My HomeA Poem by MeowlloryThe beauty of Mother Nature. Written in my youth.
Windows prevent me from the wide-open world Where the Sun beats down on the well deserved I throw open the glass, And leap through this portal And into my nature, and into my world I run with the wind, And sway with the trees I lie in the green grass and savor the sea breeze I sing with the birds A sweet and beautiful song I play with the young ones and help them along I stand tall with the sunflowers, bright and proud With their heads held high, not needing a sound I dance with the butterflies up in the sky I breathe in the fresh air for a natural high I flow with the rivers, My fast-moving friends I try to keep up so the fun never ends But alas it does, I am sad to say So I shed a few tears and am on my way Through the forests, across the fields Over the creeks and up the hills Into the glass prison, where I am all alone But it is really Mother Nature I call my home. © 2011 Meowllory |
