SilenceA Poem by Meowllory
Silence is only comforting when I am with you.
All other times silence singes my skin with its cruel song, rubbing my flesh raw with wistful thoughts. My ears ringing, a longing to be in your dampening arms, your silence. Our silences intertwined so beautifully once, do you remember? Remember when our silence cradled us in warmth akin to a mother's womb, safe and content we sat together, losing ourselves in the combined sweetness of our melodies, our comfortable silence. Now our silence suffocates, overwhelming the room with its thickness, an incessant clamor of bittersweet memories, unspoken words, painful lies. What has become of the silent song we once bathed in? Now, only this offensive unknowing stands between us, a wall, I suppose I erected myself with insecurities and selfish whims. my silence. I ache, standing amongst the deafening silence, listening. With each fresh stillness, I realize that without your instruments, your voice, your ever entrancing rhythm, my silence turns shrill. My ears throb with its guilt inducing emptiness, our forgotten silence I wonder what your silence sounds like when you are alone. © 2013 MeowlloryFeatured Review
