Wise Old Fool

Wise Old Fool

A Poem by Maki

 Deep in the forest,

Past the whispers and babble,

You will find a lone creature

Gazing in the damp meadow.

Wise eyes set in a misty old glow

Covered in thick warm fur

Swaying to and fro.

His padded fingers trace along the velvet giant reeds,

In between the blades, Twilightflies

Dance along with the rhythm of the breeze.

But while the blanket of night welcomes him

His grin begins to change,

And to the moon he looks for answers

As he listens deep within.

Fantasic! it's an intriguing character. I'd like to here the rest of the tales if you'd be so kind.

this poem took me back to the Forrest... and like a fortress, I can feel, smell and observe the splendor of the forrest.... Lovely words, darling!!! Keep it up...

This poem really struck me with its imagery and fantasy-like flow. What really struck me, I guess, was the Twilightflies. I don't know why they did, but the image of flies in the twilight surprised and pleased me. This is a lovely poem with a nice, short length. Lovely!

That was very well written! It rhymed subtly and sounded great; even sounds to me like it belongs in a book, whether textbook or recreational. Great poem.
