Stained Pages

Stained Pages

A Poem by MakeshiftRose
"

Teardrops fell from my eyes, Smudging my words. Teardrops stained the words You'd been meant to read.

"

Teardrops fell from my eyes,

Fat and wet.

Teardrops landed across my paper,

Smudging my words.

Teardrops stained the words

You'd been meant to read.

Black and moist,

These teardrops fell.

Black and moist,

My words were smeared.

Black and moist,

My pages were stained.

And now you'll read

The words I couldn't say.

Author's Note

MakeshiftRose
This was a poem written for my father, and he never saw it. I didn't have the guts to show it to him. This is probably one of my most personal and emotional poems that I've ever written, and I would appreciate it if no one slammed it down.
