The bitter reality

The bitter reality

A Poem by Maissa laadhar

When I first saw him
I felt like the world stopped for awhile
I got crocodiles in my stomach instead of butterflies

I fell in love from the first sight
My heart is beating fast
Faster than my angels can fly

Faster than the speed of the light
And  when he  noticed me, he smiled
I was too overwhelmed by emotions to speak

I even forgot how to greet
the words flew with the wind
fear has built cement on my feet

Finally, I took a step toward him
To ask him for a date
I already imagined myself

Kissing him under the rain
And wrapping my arms around his waist
I've created a Cinderella story in my head

And Never thought that My beautiful stranger
Could be engaged !
That's why I Should stop watching

Romantic movies these days
