An orphan's tragedy

An orphan's tragedy

A Poem by Maissa laadhar

She lights up a candle and wished
For her mother to be here
To hold her tightly until

She falls asleep
She lights up a candle and wished
For her father to be here

To tell him about her day and her dreams
She cried in silence
Afraid to wake up the beast

Who adopted her when she was a kid
He has been treating her like a dirty pig
He never considers her a human being

Humiliating her for any fault
never forgiving her
Even when she begs on her knees

or when she cries
because she felt the pain
from his big cold hand when he slaps her

for the most trivial things
she has been a slave for years
and everyday she dreams

about her unknown family
why they abandoned her
when she was a little kid

death took their souls away
or did they sell her and run away
to hide from the shame

society has no mercy regarding this sin
But she has no sin from being born
and thrown away like she is nothing

for god sake ! she's a human being
some respect please
