AttackA Poem by Rose TylerBased on A Picture
The snow ruffles her fur, And dances before her eyes She meets up with her mate, As he howls at the sun.
The aurora dances, Flickers and rolls. Her tail down low, Full of pain and sorrow.
She leans against him, She reaches for his streangth. He listens, ears pricking, And waits.
The sun fell, The moon rose, And diamonds filled the night sky. But still they don't see him.
Her recovery continues - Slowly, Steadily, Regaining her wits.
Finally they find him, The demon who hurt her; A trail of blood leading to him, Only to find it a newly made corpse.
His revenge he could not exact, Her anger at boiling point. Weak minded with emotions, She saw running as her only option.
Away from her protector, Away from her love, Away from her mate; She continues to run.
Away fron her anger, Away from her fear, Away from her sadness; Never stopping.
He finds her at the end of her run, Buried in snow - Almost dead, Almost alive.
Now they spend The rest of their lives Protecting each other Mentally, physically, emotionally.
She's run once more, But after never again - She thirsts for his presence And doesn't stray.
Her thoughts wander, Move around here and there. Going back to the gruesome night Of the brutal attack. © 2010 Rose TylerAuthor's Note
