ListenA Poem by Rose TylerWritten at midnight.
Upon this sheet shall I write
With this feather and ink The parchment rolls And inkwells My words shall be delivered to you By ink By text By sound By mouth Hear me now I plead Listen to my story of woe Lend an ear to me And listen to my songs of old I spin these stories Like a weaver with cloth I write these words As they fall from my mind Only for a second though Do I have the chance The will To write them out In the blistering heat In the biting cold In the mild days Always my words They keep together Tune in to what I say Maybe, I pray You'll hear what I teach You'll see what I mean Hear me now I beg of you Listen to my stories of joy Hear what I have to say And read this write of old © 2010 Rose Tyler |
