IndependenceA Poem by Rose TylerInspired by 'Independence Day' written and sang by Martina McBride~
Independence day, the 4th, it's the day
Time for the sun to truly show it's rays The freedom rings, The beautiful birds sing, The flag waves To show all the lives it gave. Voices ring out, Strong and without doubt. Those who live now, None ask how- Why they live, Why they give. Independence day, The day we became truly free. Right here in our homeland, the USA Where the historic document was written, our independence decree. All is never lost, There's always hope for tomorrow. In the land of the free, And the home of the brave - We all stand together Not again will anyone be enslaved. As one we look To our forefathers, To our past, Whether bad, good, happy, sad, None of us shall forget How those who serve our country Have dedicated their lives. I salute to you all Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, All of you I have the deepest respect for. I look to the flag at the end of the night, And pray for those I know Even those I don't. I pray for their safety, I pray for their safe return home. If they've been lost, though, I pray for them to rest and live in peace With the Lord.
