Hollow Last Wish

Hollow Last Wish

A Poem by Mahlo Metsys
"

Moving on is a journey of the mind, no matter which direction we go, or who we go to.

"

I dwell in my shell near the black wishing well

Where fires burn calm, underwater in hell

My wish is to flee, to be free and to see

What misfortunes and curses are coming to me

I lay and I pray on the cold winter ground

I’m silent at peace as my soul creeps around

It preaches, it reaches, it pulls to the stars

“Hush silly creature... They’re only but scars...”

The night sky, it glares, it glares and it stares

At my hollow dull body that no longer cares

Just send me an angel, the one I won’t shun

I’d just like to tell her my life’s almost done

Will she cry? Will she sigh? Will she tell me goodbye?

No matter... She’s pure there in heaven up high...
