Valley of SinsA Poem by Mahlo MetsysProbably the darkest thing I've written recently that still maintains a poetic tone. There's no positivity in this one, but sometimes we just feel that way.Somber lives laying in the fields of despair Choirs are ravaged to scream the Lord’s prayer Seven dark masses, and seven graves free Burnt in my sins, they are coming for me Voices of choices ring screams in my ear Laughter and crying is all I can hear I kneel at the altar of those who hate me Gaze down at the flames now where saints cannot see
I stumble in the valley of death where I stir Waiting for judgment my soul will concur The cold brings me comfort from the scalding bright sun While the moon just reminds me what can’t be undone My blessings and deeds have betrayed what I wish I forced out the light and embraced the anguish Of darkness inside that had once set me free Only to trap me and hide the small key
Villains and Martyrs are calling to me No offer for light, for I’ll just disagree This path was my own, the destination is hell The heat of the fires soon make me propel Look back at the trail of my sorrow behind Look back at the faces of those I’ve confined Why am I not sorry? Why do my tears roam? Perhaps this abyss has been always my home...
I scream to the heavens, they’re abandoning me I pray to all angels who refuse to help me For I am not sorry, I am only in pain Shrieking to God, though I know it’s in vain A cold dark horizon, all hope in eclipse I claw and I thrash, only death in my grips I’ve chosen this path with a seal of my soul Time has now come to satiate the black hole... © 2014 Mahlo MetsysAuthor's Note
