The Winter of EternityA Poem by Mahlo MetsysIn most Gothic literature, winter is a metaphoric representation of darkness or evil, as it's the opposite to summer which is represented by the cosmic sun. I wrote this as a solute to this concept.Mist and fog decorate the grounds Hear the cold theme song sung by lost hellhounds In the summer of a life, where you’re embracing your emotion Lucid nightmares will now establish your devotion
Writhing in frost below Watching the spirits grow Seeing the horrors glow Forever to join the flow Samhain, All hallows Eve Sunlight and choirs grieve Worship is so naive This winter will never leave
Dim the skies, mute the cries Let the freezing moon shine Within it’s rays, end of days For now this season is mine Stirring graves, loyal slaves To the order of death Winter time, curses chime Beneath an angel’s cold breath
Cold as Ice, this is paradise Devil spirits crawl at night to entice In the mourning of a life, you can’t escape the shrill sensation Never break away, Eternal Winter’s temptation
Craving mortality A sick dark morality Facing Fatality Leaving reality Lurking within nightfall Steering the winds spiteful Inferno demands frightful The season so delightful
Curse the skies, feed the cries This is an ancient cold prize Kneel in praise, end of daze The freezing moon, watch it rise Royal winds, carry sins Through millennial lives Winter’s mine, f**k your chime My judgment day now arrives © 2014 Mahlo MetsysAuthor's Note
