Haunted by Devotion

A Poem by Mahlo Metsys
"

If you believe in it, it's still worth it.

"

Crucify me on a pillar of tears and pain

I will never feel salvation, for I am insane

Lock my soul away in envy of purity

I will drown to death in my own obscurity

Impale my heart with a sword of undying love

Never believed in anything that came from above

I am a haunted soul that preys on hate and death

Once was a saint, but my life taught me to be less

Yet still I look, still I gaze at the heavens light

And it burns inside me... An undying will to fight...

How can this be when I have let myself fall so low?

And then she tells me... “You know that you can’t let go.”
