Demons of the Never

Demons of the Never

A Poem by Mahlo Metsys
"

The past is behind us. But all memories are always with us.

"

Welcome here to the rest of your life

It’s been quite a path at the edge of a knife

With all of God’s mercy, and all of your pain

Let’s go back in time to when you were insane

Remember the faces, remember the flame

Remember the madness, remember the blame

You followed the path of the rebel at large

You followed not knowing your demons took charge

Despite all your weakness you found a way out

But it follows forever, a demon called “doubt”

It drags you back in and it drags you back down

It drags you so deep that your soul may soon drown

Will you fight it, or spite it to save what you’ve done?

Or just let yourself fall back where you can have fun...

This is a great poem with an equally good message, and the word choice and rhyming just adds to it. Overall, I enjoyed it.
