The Deviance of Arts

The Deviance of Arts

A Poem by Mahlo Metsys
"

Lyrics to a song I've been working on for a music project. This is a homage, or tribute to all forms of dark styled art. It's in a creative outlook, not to be taken literally.

"

Destroyed by all in pasts and flames

In wretched screams that cursed our names

Toward the binds of our divines

Within temptation, lust confines

Ever darkly songs and hymns

The melodies of righteous sins

To comfort those who hide from light

Mutation hides from heavens sight

Insight the tales of rain

Enlighten worlds insane

Embrace that filthy stain

The memory will remain

On tortured souls and hearts

The dance of death now starts

Innocence departs

The deviance of arts

Quoth the Raven: “nevermore”

And suffer to that f*****g w***e

In light and darkness, with no shame

We’re writing rules: The devil’s game

Gilles De Rais, an angel’s fraud

Walpole, Lovecraft, Poe, De Sade

On lips sealed tight for none to read

No tears please, your eyes will bleed

For night has carved us life

With the infernal knife

The canvas has been lain

For pleasing Gods in vain

On tortured souls and hearts

The dance of death now starts

Innocence departs

The deviance of arts

Fear not the light of our cold fire

Feel the embrace of arts most dire

Let your spirit light the way

Create the hunter and the prey

These worlds of creatures shall come true

The flightless phoenix shrieks for you

Feed the darkly living hearts

Rejoice the deviance of arts
