Trembling RomanceA Poem by ANNA
Searching for a word
To kiss my trembling lips
Inspirer my misty eyes
Challenge my mind to forget
I’m running through
A clouded nightmare
Pacing
Racing
To wake up before it’s too late
If I fall out
Out of this bed
Who will pick me up?
Turn my tears into a smile
Look into my soul like it dying
White and black
Frames my photographic lack of trust
Staining my heart beat without a paintbrush
Wasn’t that enough to black you out?
Nothing to lead me away from the past
Stop the love that runs over my semimetal words
Asking for a second chance just wasn’t an option
Wasn’t enough for me to believe,
In the improvements that you made
Why couldn’t you be the one?
You and I
Me and you
Compounded by the love of attraction
Our foundation was unstable
With little air to breath
We made no sense to begin with
Fill each other up with guilt and misery
Searching for the future to settle in
To feel safe once again
Clime another mountain without bleeding to death
Every second counts like the last
Whether the twist of fate crumbles
You and I fell short of our good byes
Our longing for each other faded like the sands of time
I’m sure of one thing though,
You and I got the best of each other worlds
